Function/purpose of the job:

To prepare and progress cases in the Criminal Department.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

To be determined

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Taking instructions and advising clients
  • Advocacy in Magistrates Court
  • Attending Police Stations
  • Case preparation
  • Instructing Counsel and Experts
  • Prison visits
  • Covering Saturday Court and Bank Holiday duties (on a rota basis)
  • Police Station Out of hours On-Call (on a rota basis)
  • To comply with Duty Solicitor requirements as set out by the LAA

Qualifications and experience:

  • Degree/LPC
  • Police Station/Duty Accreditation

Specialist Training Required

General Crime & Duty Solicitor Updates. Equality and Diversity, Data Protection, Anti-Money Laundering and Conflicts Training

Job type: Full-time, Permanent
