Margaret Agnew

Margaret joined Cobleys in early 2019 and has over 18 years experience within the legal profession. Margaret qualified as a solicitor in 2012.  Margaret specialises in all aspects of family law, including Public Law matters involving the Local Authority.  Margaret has been involved in complex Care  Proceedings brought by Local Authorities concerning children who have either been abused or have been the subject of neglect.  Margaret also represents parents at Pre-Proceedings meetings.

Margaret Agnew advises clients in respect of Private family matters including, cohabitation, children matters and domestic abuse matters and relationship breakdown including, financial disputes and  following relationship breakdown. In particular, Margaret has assisted many clients who are serving in the Armed Forces or have served in the Armed Forces.  Her knowledge of and familiarity with a variety of support groups available for those who have served in the  Armed  Forces also allows Margaret to offer more than just legal services to her clients. Margaret regularly receives referrals from Veteran Groups.

Margaret also attends various schools on Merseyside and Cheshire giving talks to students with regard to careers in the Legal profession. Margaret has also given a number of presentations to teachers and staff in relation to Parental Responsibility and Child Arrangement Orders.

Margaret Agnew adopts a straightforward and pragmatic approach but is always mindful of the need to handle family law matters sensitively. Once Margaret has discussed and agreed her clients’ objectives, Margaret will work tirelessly for them to ensure the best possible outcome.

Margaret is a member of Resolution, an association of family lawyers and other professionals committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes.
