John is a qualified solicitor, a member of the Duty Solicitor Panel and a specialist Higher Court Advocate in Crime. John has specialised exclusively in criminal law since 2008 and has extensive experience at the Police Station, Magistrates’ Court, Crown Court and Court of Appeal (Criminal Division).
Currently, John is one of Cobley’s specialist in-house Crown Court Advocates appearing before Crown Courts nationwide on a daily basis. John has in-depth experience dealing with the entire spectrum of criminal offences from low-level assaults and thefts, through to extremely serious sexual offences, murder, manslaughter, death by dangerous/careless driving and multi-defendant drugs and firearm conspiracies. John also has particular expertise in Proceeds of Crime Act proceedings and complex fraud matters.
John is a tenacious and passionate advocate who treats all of his cases with the care and attention to detail that he understands his clients should and do expect. His persuasive and impassioned advocacy style provides those he represents with the utmost confidence that they are being represented by someone with their best interests at heart and with the aim of obtaining the best result possible for them. John prides himself on ensuring that clients understand the complex legal issues that quite often present themselves in cases and he is able to break down those issues to ensure that his clients understand precisely what is going on at each and every stage of their case.
John understands how stressful and anxious appearing before the Courts can be and will always do his utmost to make his clients feel as comfortable as possible. Over the years John has secured crucial acquittals in some of the most serious cases before the Courts and is also regularly successful in appeal cases before the Court of Appeal.
